Just wanted to announce that today marks the 22 anniversary of my birth. I chilled most of the day. My mother made a dinner and bought me a SpongeBob SqaurePants birthday cake. I just enjoyed spending the day at home with family. Plus I'm on vacation all this week from work, so I'm all good. |
My other site, avidSOUND.com, is near completed. Mostly all of the features have been implemented. The site is really dead at this point, so my partner in crime JH, and I are in the process of getting the site back active, at least to the point that it was once before when it was tWG.
This is also my first entry in a long time. So welcome back me. |
Mr. Barack Obama has clinched the Democratic nomination, setting up a November matchup with Republican nominee John McCain.
Quote from: washingtonpost.com
Sen. Barack Obama claimed the Democratic nomination for president in a speech in Minnesota tonight -- an historic achievement that for the first time will place an African American at the top of a major political party's ticket.
After months of see-saw battling with his arch Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, ending tonight with Obama and Clinton splitting primaries in Montana and South Dakota, Obama will be immediately thrust into a pitched general election battle with Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the presumptive Republican nominee.
In speeches by both men tonight, they sought to define the parameters of the contest to come. Obama cast McCain as an insufficient change agent after eight years of George W. Bush's presidency. McCain insisted that Obama represents the wrong kind of change. |
As long as its a change from what is now, I'm all for it (from either man). I'd love to see Obama win it and will vote for him this fall, just because I believe in his change. I honestly believe that most of his talk is valid and not just "vote getting talk". |
The Boston Celtics closed out the Detroit Pistons in 6 games to advance to the NBA finals for the first time since 1987. This sets up the dream finals matchup between the "Big Three" led Boston Celtics and the MVP of the NBA Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles Lakers.
“It’s kind of surreal,” Garnett said. “Probably hasn’t even hit me yet because we haven’t slept in about four days, going on five days now. Going to the finals, I’m just hoping to get some sleep.”
Boston has finally proved that they can win a game on the road in the postseason, winning twice at the Palace in Detroit, but Los Angeles is undefeated at home this postseason. Boston has to hold serve in the Garden if they want to win their 17 NBA title in their elustrious franchise history.

Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers finished off the San Antonio spurs to advance to the NBA Finals. Kobe Bryant, phenomenal as usual, delivered 39 points as he led his team back to the promiseland.
“I think it is a tremendous accomplishment,” Bryant said. “I think the West is extremely tough. We’re all extremely excited and proud about it. Now, it’s time to go on and see if we can’t finish it off.”
I think that the key player for this Laker sucess has no doubt been Lamar Odom. Sure Kobe is Kobe, always has been and always will be, but LO has been dominating opposing fowards with his quickness and athleticism. I think Lamar will cause problems for either Detroit or Boston.
Now heres to a LA/Boston Finals matchup.

Probably a freak coincidence that this happens (I suppose its real), but I found this video on youtube and thought it was extremely funny. A player rebounds the ball off of a miss shot and takes a full court heave, but the ball ends up hitting a kid thats running along the baseline. Check it out.

Well, I have one final I have to take next week, but other than that, classes are over for the summer. I really can use the break, because school has become so bland to me. I've been in school 17 of my 213/4 years on this earth, and im tired now. Its too late to quit now, so I gotta stick it out.
But this summer should be great. First full summer as a legal 21 year old criminal. Can't wait. |
I've been putting in more time at work, trying to get more hours because I'm looking to move out pretty soon and get my own place. This is also the busiet time in a college students semester. With exams and presentations all due soon, and me working 9-10 hour days/nights, I'm running on around 31/2 hours of sleep a day going to class. I had to drop two courses because I wasn't doing so well in them. I have to focus to make sure that I pass my remaining courses. It can be done, and it will, as long as I weather the storm of fatigue. |
The Boston Celtics, with a win last night against the Dallas Mavericks, completed the Texas Triangle wtih a sweep, the first Texas road trip sweep since the Sacramento Kings did it in 2001. People who questioned Boston in the past show no more.
In the process, they come back from 20+ down to defeat the champs The Spurs, they snap the Houston Rockets' 22 game winning streak, and they give the Mavs their 25 lose of the season, and mind you, they beat the Spurs and Rockets WITHOUT Ray Allen.
All of the fuss about the tight rase in the west, but don't forget about the team with the best record in the NBA, the Boston Celtics. |
